ABOUT
THE PROPERTIES
Highland Lake House is a waterfront family compound owned and managed by a family who has a long history in Lakes Region and values time by the water with loved ones. It features two distinct accommodations: a charming lakeside cottage and a traditional Cape Cod with plenty of parking for you and your guests. The property is roughly three quarters of an acre with 140 feet of waterfront. There are two stationery docks and a swim float plus a mooring for any boat you wish to bring. The views of the Presidential Mountain range will take your breath away, especially at sunset.
The Cottage was custom built in 2008 and is sited literally on the waters edge with an abundance of windows that surrounds you with views of the water and mountains including the Presidential Range and Pleasant Mountain (A.K.A. Shawnee Peak). This unique and rare setting provides for an intimate waterfront experience. The cottage has two bedrooms and two full baths on three levels and comfortably sleeps eight. The master bedroom, perched on the third level, has its own bathroom and stunning Westerly views of the lake and mountains that can be enjoyed the moment you wake. The second bedroom with a full bath across the hall is on the main level where breath-taking views can be found in almost every corner of the open floor plan featuring the kitchen, dining, and living room areas. The lake level has a set of bunks and two twin beds, plus a ping pong table, living area, and table nook right on the waters edge. The main level walks out to a covered wrap around cedar deck where sunsets can be watched in comfort.
There is a stationery dock from the shore, and a swim float to enjoy soaking up the warm summer sun. In addition to a canoe and kayaks, there’s a mooring ready and waiting for your fishing boat, waterskiing boat, or a sailboat. When it s time to eat, dine on fresh Maine lobster at the picnic tables (seating for 12) near the campfire and enjoy the striking view down the lake, or get cozy on the cottage deck while you gaze at the spectacular sunsets. Should a rain cloud arise, you’ll have three zones of radiant heat to assist in finding a cozy spot to settle into with a good book and enjoy the stunning picture window views.
The Cape has four bedrooms with one full bath and comfortably sleeps eight. There are two bedrooms on the second level and two bedrooms on the main level. Each floor has a master bedroom and a bedroom with two twins. The Cape features its own private path down to the lake for the early riser who wishes not to wake those sleeping in at the cottage, plus its own stationery dock. Each house is equipped with a full-size washer and dryer.
